The Project

The medical centre wanted to reduce their electricity costs and save on their electricity bills.

The installation was across two separate roofs as the medical centre was in two separate buildings.

We had to be careful of patients accessing the medical centre while we were installing and made sure that the scaffolding wasn’t obstructing the doorways.

The electrics had to be done at the weekend so as not to affect the equipment being used at the centre. Testing also had to be completed at the weekend as it involved turning off the electricity supply.

To maximise the solar, we added microinverters to ensure that if one panel was shaded, it wouldn’t affect the overall performance of the solar system.

The finished installation consists of a 28-panel solar PV system with two batteries and two gateways, with panels installed across two roofs and the control system located in the basement of one of the properties.

The Challenge

Maintaining Access
Patient access needed to remain clear throughout the installation.

Two Separate Roofs
The solar installation needed to span two separate buildings.

Minimising Disruption
Electrical work and testing required the power supply to be switched off.

Our Solution

Careful Planning
Scaffolding was positioned to keep the medical centre entrances accessible.

Weekend Working
Electrical work and testing were completed at weekends to avoid affecting equipment in use.

Managing Shading
Microinverters were used so shading on one panel wouldn’t affect the performance of the others.
